Terms of use

These terms cover the Pikola Chrome extension, the website at pikola.app and the account you sign in with. By installing Pikola, signing in or paying, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Pikola. In short: use it to draft your own teams, don't copy or resell it, and it gives advice, not guarantees.

What Pikola is

Pikola is a draft assistant for Yahoo fantasy basketball. It reads the Yahoo draft room open in your browser and suggests what to bid, who to pick and who to nominate. You make every bid and pick in Yahoo yourself. Pikola is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Yahoo.

Your account

You sign in with your email address or your Google account. Keep access to that email to yourself: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. One account is for one person. You may use it on any computer you sign in on, but you may not share it or sell access to it.

Free mock drafts and the one payment

A number of Yahoo mock drafts are free once you sign in. A real league's draft, and mock drafts past the free ones, need the one-time payment shown at checkout. The payment unlocks Pikola for your account; there is no subscription and nothing renews. Payments are handled by Stripe. If a payment is refunded or disputed, Pikola locks real drafts on that account again.

For a refund, write to hello@pikola.app. Nothing in these terms takes away any right you have under consumer law where you live.

What you may do

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Pikola to help draft your own fantasy teams, for as long as your account is in good standing.

What you may not do

• Copy, modify, or make your own version of Pikola or any part of it.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise try to work out its source code, its methods or how it reaches its numbers, except where the law gives you a right to do so that cannot be excluded.
• Get around the sign-in, the free-mock limit, the payment or any other limit on access, or help anyone else do so.
• Share, sell, rent, publish or give away the extension, a copy of it, or access to your account.
• Use Pikola, its output or its code to build or train a competing product, model or service.
• Use Pikola in a way that breaks Yahoo's terms or the rules of your league. Whether a draft assistant is allowed in your league is between you and your league.

Who owns what

Pikola, including its code, its methods, its design, the name, the pickle and everything on this website, belongs to us and is protected by copyright and other laws. These terms give you a licence to use it, not ownership of any part of it. Your league settings, draft log and notes are yours; they stay in your browser.

Advice, not guarantees

Pikola's numbers are estimates built on projections and on what happens in the draft room. Projections can be wrong, players get hurt, and the room can be read imperfectly. Pikola is provided "as is": we don't promise that it will be error-free, always available, or that following it will win you anything. You decide every bid and pick, and you are responsible for them.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of Pikola, including the result of a draft, a season or any bet or contest, and our total liability to you for anything to do with Pikola is limited to the amount you paid us. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Ending your use

You can stop using Pikola at any time; uninstalling the extension removes it from your browser. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, without a refund. We may change or stop offering Pikola, and if we stop offering it to someone who has paid within the last year, we will refund that payment.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change matters to people who have paid, we'll say so by email or in the extension. Using Pikola after a change means you accept it.
